Encrypt your drive using BitLocker with no TPM module

type “gpedit.msc” into the Run dialog box, and press Enter.

Navigate to Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > BitLocker Drive Encryption > Operating System Drives in the left pane.

Double-click the “Require additional authentication at startup” option in the right pane.

Select “Enabled” at the top of the window, and ensure the “Allow BitLocker without a compatible TPM

Close the window

There is no need to reboot. You can encrypt your drive now.

Windows 10 Control Panel MS Office 2016 Mail Icon error “Application Not Found”

Today I was working on a computer where opening the Mail Icon in the Control Panel just showed error “Application Not Found”. I removed MS Office 2016 and reinstalled it and it did not fix the issue. I had to go to Control Panel – Programs and click on MS Office 2016 and then select change and repair. It asked me if I want to do online repair so it can download needed files. It took a long time but this fixed the issue. Mail icon in the Control Panel will now open again with no error.

Steam client application won’t open on windows 10 computer

Today I had a problem with my Steam client. I would double click on my icon to open Steam and nothing would happen. This is how I fixed this issue on my Windows 10 computer.

 

 

  1. Navigate to steam client installation folder – for example C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam
  2. find steam.exe and rename it to steam.exe.old
  3. restart your computer
  4. Navigate to steam client installation folder – for example C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam
  5. rename steam.exe.old back to steam.exe
  6. open steam client – it will start installing an update and then it will open Steam application.

Windows 10 Disable SMB v1 protocol

IN Windows 10 click Start button then enter Windows PowerShell in the search box, then right-click the Windows PowerShell shortcut and click Run as administrator.

From that elevated PowerShell prompt, type the following command:

Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName smb1protocol

Windows 7 32bit sees only 3GB of RAM when 4GB is installed

open msconfig using search
in msconfig click on boot
next inside boot click on advanced options
In boot advanced options tick on maximum memory
in maximum memory type value “4096”
then click OK
Next click apply in msconfig
Then Restart your pc
check available memory
